A bomb technician is defusing a device with seconds left. His six year old daughter video calls him. She has no idea where he is and he decides not to tell her. So the film has to hold two truths at once: what is actually happening, and what she sees. That's why it's shot the way it is his bodycam, her phone screen, his phone screen. The camera never sees a person directly. Every face in this film arrives through glass, which turned out to be the subject rather than the style: a father and a daughter who exist to each other only as an image on a device.
